Valuable input...Lamb producers are being asked to help with next year's LambEx.

Australia’s largest national sheep and lamb event, the biennial LambEx, has announced Perth as its next host.

LambEx will see producers, processors, researchers and service and education providers, from all over Australia as well as internationally, visit Perth to discuss all facets of the industry and showcase the latest industry developments.

The Department of Agriculture and Food Western Australia is supporting LambEx 2018 and its sheep industry development director Bruce Mullan said Perth was an ideal location for the August event.

‘‘The sheep industry contributes almost half of the gross value of agricultural production from all livestock industries in WA, including $513million from the sheepmeat industry,’’ Dr Mullan said.

A new chair has been announced for the 2018 event’s organising committee, with WA Sheep Alliance director and sheep producer Bindi Murray taking on the role.
