Rabobank senior analyst Michael Harvey will present on the topic ‘‘Australian dairy – climbing back off the canvas’’ at Murray Dairy workshops this week.
He will look at global and local dairy market dynamics during the next 12 months and key implications for Australian farm gate milk prices. Mr Harvey will also look at the constant change occurring across the processing sector and what this means for milk suppliers.
The Setting up the Season workshops will be held in Echuca, Wodonga and Shepparton.
Agriculture Victoria climate specialist Dale Grey will give an overview of current climate indicators, a seasonal update of conditions so far and an assessment of what the climate models are saying for the next six months.
Goulburn-Murray Water water managers Mark Bailey and Andrew Shields will give an update on recent conditions, seasonal determinations, spill risk and outlooks for the coming season.
The sessions are designed to provide information to farmers to assist with business decision making for the coming months.
