Dairy Australia has announced nominees from Gippsland and western Victoria to stand for election to its board as non-executive directors at the annual general meeting in November.

There are two vacancies this year, both for directors with milk producer skills.

Graeme Nicoll, who was appointed to the Dairy Australia Board earlier this year to fill a casual vacancy, has been nominated for one of the milk producer positions.

Mr Nicoll has worked in the dairy industry for 20 years. In partnership with his wife Gillian, he has managed a successful dairy business in Gippsland for the past 15 years, and currently milks about 300 cows.

Mr Nicoll served on the GippsDairy Regional Development Program Board for five years and was chair for two years.

Tania Luckin has been nominated for the other vacant position.

Ms Luckin has been farming for 20 years. With her husband Stephen and their farm team, she operates a 500-cow dairy farm in Heywood, south-west Victoria.

Ms Luckin has owned and operated a number of dairy farms of varying sizes and farming systems in south-west Victoria and South Australia.

She has been actively involved in industry projects and governance, and served on the Bonlac Supply Company Board from 2014 to 2016.

She is currently a member of the WestVic Dairy Regional Development Program Board and a member of the Dairy Industry Advocacy Review Team.
