Sheep producers can tap into the latest in meat science to bolster their business performance, with the Sheep CRC now a partner in the popular extension program, It’s Ewe Time.

Sheep producers can tap into the latest in meat science to bolster their business performance, with the Sheep CRC now a partner in the popular extension program, It’s Ewe Time.

It’s Ewe Time is designed to increase producer awareness of the principles, practices and tools of sheep enterprise profitability and productivity.

Sheep CRC will sponsor meat research scientists to present at a series of It’s Ewe Time forums.

Sheep CRC’s Bruce Hancock said presenters would highlight outcomes from Sheep CRC’s Quality Based Sheep Meat Value Chains program.

‘‘The research, development, extension and application of meat science — lean meat yield, eating quality and health attributes, objective carcase management, genetics, producer feedback and practice change, and developing technologies — are embedded within the supply chains from the get-go in collaborative and co-investment projects,’’ Mr Hancock said.

The forums cost $35, which covers morning tea and lunch and all take home materials.

■A forum will be held on Thursday, August 31 at the Hamilton Exhibition and Conference Centre, Hamilton Showgrounds, with registrations from 9am and the forum beginning at 9.30am.
