A Kyabram dairy company has agreed to purchase the Kiewa Country brand and some factory assets owned by Murray Goulburn.

The purchase by Kyvalley Dairy Group, owned by brothers, Wayne, Peter and David Mulcahy, will see the brand remain in Northern Victorian hands and may save more than 130 jobs that the Kiewa plant employs.

Director Peter Mulcahy  said his company was optimistic about the future of the dairy industry.

"Kyvalley Dairy believes in the Australian dairy industry and we are investing in its future. With the purchase of Kiewa Country, we are continuing our support of local communities."
