The best young auctioneers from across Victoria will travel to the Victorian Livestock Exchange, Pakenham to compete in the 2017 Australian Livestock & Property Agents Association Victorian Young Auctioneers Competition next month.
The event, now in its fifth year, sees competitors auction commercial cattle while they are judged on their diction, values, voice and manner, and the cattle will be judged prior to the competition as a part of the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria Prime Stock Competition.
The 10 finalists in the Young Auctioneers Competition will compete for the title of 2017 ALPA Victorian Young Auctioneer as well as the Graham Lanyon Shield, with the winner and runner-up going on to represent Victoria at the 2018 ALPA National Young Auctioneers Competition, held at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
The night before the competition, industry members and friends and families of the competitors will gather for the annual ALPA Victorian Young Auctioneers Dinner.
