The NAB Foundation has pledged $1.2million in grants to regional communities who are facing unique environmental issues.
The Sustainable Regions Grants will be offered to organisations that are helping communities better manage natural resources.
‘‘A healthy environment is essential to productive, successful communities, but we know complex challenges such as water quality, biodiversity loss, land degradation and climate change can be difficult to resolve,’’ NAB’s head of government, education and community specialised banking Andrew Loveridge said.
The foundation is encouraging applications from organisations working to strengthen co-ordination and collaboration between environmental groups, businesses, landholders and governments.
Grants between $100000 and $1million will be awarded for up to three years, with charities, social enterprises and start-ups encouraged to apply.
Applications are open now and close at 5pm on Friday, October 27.
