The 73rd National Conference of the Murray Darling Association will be held in Renmark from October 11 to 13.
Compliance issues in the Murray-Darling Basin will form part of the discussion at the conference.
The conference will also cover topics such as the National Carp Control Plan, Snowy 2.0, the Murray-Darling Basin Authority’s evaluation of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan, emerging trends in agriculture, the role of the barrages, and environmental watering.
MDA president David Thurley said the issues varied but the common element was the health and wellbeing of local communities.
‘‘The voice of local government needs to be heard in the offices and parliaments where decisions are made and the MDA provides that powerful voice for all local government areas across the basin,’’ Mr Thurley said.
‘‘The more communities we have on board, the stronger our voice is.’’
