A complete clearance was the highlight of a multi-vendor dairy sale at Shepparton Regional Saleyards on Friday.
All 136 cattle were sold for a gross total of $265000 and averaged $1949, with the top priced cow heading to Cohuna.
‘‘GS and PM Dehne, of Cohuna, purchased 40 head at an average of $1988,’’ Flanagan Marketing Services director Lawrie Flanagan said.
‘‘They bought the top priced cow of $2850, which was a heifer from Nathalia.
‘‘RJ Lochhead, from Kiewa, purchased 21 head at an average $1902.’’
Of the vendors, the Oakdale stud of Longwarry sold 59 at an average of $1846, while Malcolm and McDonald sold 37 head at $2082.
