By Southern Riverina News

Tocumwal Public School has made it three in a row when it outran the opposition to win the Finley Zone Cross Country held at Urana last week.

TPS took a team of 32 students to Urana where they competed in two and three kilometre events against representatives from the other seven schools in the Finley Zone.

Joe Barker was crowned 12/13 years boys’ age champion, Tahlia Pate 11 years girls’ champion, Logan White 10 year boys’ champion and Mia Owen 8/9 girls’ champion.

It was the depth of Tocumwal’s runners that gave them the win with many TPS students coming in the top four placings to qualify for the Riverina Regional Carnival.

Tocumwal students who qualified for the Regional Carnival are: Joe Barker, Jackson Bury, Charlie Locke, Tahlia Pate, Remmi Wardlaw, Logan White, Liam Sutton, Hunter Groutsch, Tom White, Jemma Reid, Olivia Thompson, Ashton Desailly, Mia Owen and Adrienne Jones.

The Riverina carnival will be held in Gundagai next week.
