A $5000 prize for a hole-in-one is the highlight of the 2018 Echuca Moama Accommodation Association Golf Day, which will be held at Rich River Golf Club Resort next week.
Open to golfers of all abilities, funds raised from the day go towards destination marketing for Echuca-Moama.
The event started in 1987 and has attracted a large crowd from across the district and beyond every year since.
Coordinator Ross Veale said $12,000 was raised last year and the association hoped to equal or better that total this year.
“It’s great to raise funds but also to create a bit of team spirit and a good feel in the community,” he said.
“The event creates friendships and helps people to network. Through socialising we create a great community spirit that benefits the area.”
It’s all happening May 11, with play beginning at 12.30pm with a shotgun start. A buffet lunch will be available from 11am. Entry costs $120 a person.
