Breeders offer up their best

Goulburn Murray Jersey Breeders Club on farm competition. The Cockerell family achieved success in the three-year-old category with Warrain Galvainse Empress 2.

The Akers family were successful in winning the eight years and over category with their entry Loxleigh Futurity Iris.

Five-year-old Kaarmona Vanahlem Babe 200 owned by Graham and Rohan Sprunt from Kaarimba was awarded Champion Overall Cow.

First place in the four-year-old category was awarded to Graham and Rohan Sprunt from Kaarimba's Mikandan Vanahlems Belle.

Numurkah'S Cockerell family secured a win in the two-year-old category with Warrain Irwin Harmony.

The Goulburn Murray Jersey Breeders Club has hosted another successful on-farm challenge with winners set to compete in the upcoming Great Southern Challenge which takes in all the Jersey clubs from Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and southern NSW.

The club’s November 7 and 8 competition attracted entries from across the region with winners presented at The Shamrock in Numurkah on the Wednesday evening.

Rochester’s Trevor Campbell undertook the judging duties, selecting the winners in five categories, including the overall champion cow.

Graham and Rohan Sprunt from Kaarimba, south-east of Nathalia, had a successful event, securing Overall Champion Cow with their entry Kaarmona Vanahlem Babe 200 who also took first place in the five-year-old category.

Their entry Mikandan Vanahlem’s Belle was also successful in the three-year-old category.

Numurkah’s Cockerell family also had a strong event with good showings in four categories, including wins to Warrain Irwin Harmony and Warrain Galvainse Empress 2 in the two-year-old and three-year-old categories respectively.
